Demonstration of Humility,
Dependence and Relationship
Jesus is our Model

I Samuel 12:23a - “As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you.”
P – PURITY - Your pastor faces attack daily!
Matthew 26:41 – “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
A - APPLAUSE - The draw of the praise of man, wealth and power is great!
Psalm 119:36&37 – “Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.”
S – SOURCE - The tendency is to do ministry in his own strength!
I Corinthians 2:4&5 – “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.”
T - TEACHING- Communicating the truth of God’s Word in a relevant, compelling, Spirit anointed manner week after week is extremely hard!
Colossians 4:3&4 – “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.”
O – ORTHODOXY - Correct doctrine is essential – it is easy to drift!
Titus 1:9 – “He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.”
R – REST - A healthy and balanced life is so elusive!
Mark 6:31 – “Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
